This plaque bears the image of Floyd,
a twenty-two pound orange tabby. Floyd was born in Breaux Bridge,
Louisiana, where a human being threw him into Bayou Teche to try to
kill him when he was a kitten. Floyd, however, swam to the bank of the
bayou and began to holler. He was rescued and ate well in Louisiana (his
first meal after being rescued was crawfish) and Mississippi before
moving to Charleston. His history is an example of good beating evil.
